Academic Success Programs

                                    National Fine Arts ExhibitThis year-round program encourages artistic expression among Club members ages 6 to 18 through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture displayed at local and regional exhibits.

                                     Power Hour Power HourPower Hour offers a structured time and place for Club staff and volunteers to help members with an important aspect of the educational process: homework. Members emerge from the program better prepared for classes and proud of their hard work and accomplishments. Power Hour helps members become self-directed, resourceful and independent learners. They turn in their homework assignments completed and on time.

                                    Readers to LeadersReaders to Leaders is a robust literacy program for Club members of all ages that leverages a combination of classroom sessions and adaptive assessment tools to encourage reading at or above grade level.

                                    STEMSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering/Entrepreneurship, and Math) programming includes mobile and web development and networking. STEM provides an opportunity for members to build on skills acquired through various programs while preparing for post-secondary education, a STEM career, and entrepreneurship. STEAM includes the Arts into the original STEM programming.

                                    Summer Brain GainSummer Brain Gain is comprised of one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school and high school students that are aligned with common core anchor standards. In addition, BGCA introduced Summer Brain Gain: Read!, a literacy program that complements the larger Summer Brain Gain curriculum.
