Family Guild Volunteer Opportunities - 2006
All Star Digital Arts Reception – April
5th @ Holland Performing Arts Center
Boys & Girls Clubs members will be creating digital art (photos,
websites, movies and music) that will be displayed in a two dimensional
format as well moving digital images projected in display areas. Families,
club members and invited guests will be welcomed.
Bucks Program – April, September and December
Boys and Girls Club members have the opportunity to earn points (bucks)
through their performance at the Clubs, their grades in school and
by graduating from designated Boys & Girls club programs. Each
Club then hosts a Bucks Sales night where members can purchase items
that they have earned.
Haunted Forest at Carter Lake Club - Week prior to Halloween
A three day event involving tours of a haunted forest next to the Carter
Lake Club.
This is always a fun event. Members of the Keystone Club, a leadership
organization, spend many hours creating the scary effects that everyone
enjoys.
Health Fair - September
21 @ South Club & September 28 @ North Club
This will be the third year for this event held at the North and South
Clubs. Many health related organizations participate and give parents
as well as club members the opportunity to learn about various health
issues as well as having some tests administered.
On the Road – June 2006
This is the 10th year for this highly successful Boys & Girls Club
fundraiser. Many wonderful volunteers help organize an evening filled
with auctions, dinner, dancing and getting to know the Clubs better.
Scholarship
Luncheon – July 13, 2006
Graduating high school seniors as well as current college students who
are members or alumni of the Clubs, are honored at a luncheon during
which they receive scholarship awards.
Thanksgiving Dinners – Week
prior to Thanksgiving – all
Clubs
Guild members help serve Thanksgiving dinner to members and families
of each Boys & Girls Club. It is a fun social event for everyone.
Boys & Girls Clubs Track Meet – May
31, 2006 at the North Club
This is a sanctioned track meet at which approximately 600 kids participate
from about 12 track teams both local and out of state. Volunteers are
needed in many capacities to help manage this great event.
