Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands Earns Top National Honors
Tuesday, May 6th, 2008The 102nd Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Conference, going on this week in San Francisco, CA, bestowed three different, yet very distinguished awards upon the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands (Omaha, Carter Lake, Council Bluffs). All three awards are a true testament to the positive impact Boys & Girls Clubs can have on those who walk through its doors.
Westside Boys & Girls Club Awarded National Honor
The first award highlights the hard work and service provided to kids by an entire Club. After only two years in operation, BGCM’s Westside Unit has been recognized as the nation’s Best Overall Program with budgets under $500,000. Headed by Unit Director, Shelli Henry, the Westside Unit and its passionate staff have quickly made their Club a positive place for its members and a model for others in the Boys & Girls Club Movement.
