Since 1962, through its eight neighborhood Club locations, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands have helped youth ages 6-18 as they receive the direction and educational support that is vital to their success. Programs stress Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. Last year, the Clubs served more than 10,000 hot meals to children and provided a safe, nurturing environment to more than 1,100 kids each weekday. With the help of trained staff and tutors, 95% of regularly attending Club members to earned a grade point average of ‘C’ or higher. More than 800 teen members participated in truancy abatement, gang intervention, mentoring, college tours, and career preparedness programming. These services are offered to youth at a cost of only $30 per year.
