Boys & Girls Clubs of Omaha is one of the nation’s finest Boys & Girls Club organizations. We have a long history and tradition of providing outstanding services to our members. Proof that we have performed to our mission very well has come from the fact that so many of our former Club members are now responsible and productive adults.

It is an important goal at the Clubs for management and staff to form a positive relationship and that all staff members find the Clubs a positive and satisfying work environment.

Personal Qualities of Staff and Volunteers  

The personal qualities BGCO staff and volunteers take pride in are:

• A genuine interest in motivating youth, knowledge of their social and physical growth and their character development.
• An understanding of youth and their cultural backgrounds, plus insight into their social and economic conditions.
• A realistic understanding of community life and particularly of the social conditions that exert pressures on youth from less advantaged areas.
• Ability to gain the respect of youth and to exercise leadership with them as individuals and in groups.
• Sincere concern to participate in the total life of the community in which the unit is located.
